JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In the autumn of 2023 and spring of 2024, we have started two new accommodations; a residential home for children/youth and a short-term accommodation for children and youth. Our short-term operations are expanding, and we are now looking for three new employees. We are looking for you who want to join us on our journey to shape our services with the best interests of the children in focus.
Short-term stay outside the home LSS § 9:6 means that a person (in this case, a child/youth) with a functional variation temporarily lives outside their own home for a shorter or longer period. The purpose is to provide relief for relatives and space for relaxation and for the person with functional variation to receive recreation and a change of environment. Working hours are scheduled for evenings/nights/days. During weekdays, most shifts are scheduled for afternoons/evenings since the children are in school during the day. You will also work nights. Part of your time will also be coordinated with one of our children/youth homes.
In residential homes with special services for children and youth 9:8§ LSS, children and youth with disabilities who, despite various support measures, cannot stay at home live. In our accommodations, two children/youth reside. We place great importance on the accommodation having a home-like environment with family-like conditions where the staff are key persons. It is important for us to have a stable staff group as continuity is crucial for the children to feel stability and security with a limited number of people in their daily lives.
In our accommodations, children and youth with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and neuropsychiatric diagnoses stay. The job responsibilities involve providing support, care, and security to children and youth, as well as contributing to increased quality of life through various activities. Collaboration with guardians and schools is central to contributing to the children's development. In short-term care, we strive for the children and youth to have a joyful stay while their parents are given the opportunity for relief.
The working method is pedagogical and structured, and the importance of play is significant. We place great emphasis on having positive and solution-focused staff groups.
Staff use alternative communication with the children. This is done in the form of visual support, communication boards, symbols, and signs as support. The work in the children/youth home is stimulating, and as staff, you become an important person in the children's growth and get to follow their development over time. Due to challenging behaviors in certain situations, the work can be mentally and physically demanding.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must-haves:
- Approved education from the health and care program, child and leisure program, nursing education with further training, caregiver education, child caregiver with at least two years of education, or other education that we consider suitable for the operation, e.g., behavioral science or pedagogical education at the university level of at least 120 credits.
- Swedish language proficiency in both spoken and written form.
- Driving license B.
We are looking for you who have a structured and pedagogical approach towards children/youth. You adapt your approach and working methods based on the needs of the children/youth and are flexible with changes. Creativity, initiative, and playfulness are additional important qualities to motivate children/youth to be active and participate in activities. You need to have a solution-oriented attitude and good caregiving skills. It is important that you can keep up with the children's pace and that you can participate in activities such as swimming, cycling, etc.
You have a professional approach towards all persons in the children/youth's vicinity, such as relatives, schools, and colleagues. An open, attentive, and humble attitude towards both children/youth, staff, and relatives is essential. You need to be a calm person who has patience and instills security. Good collaboration skills with colleagues, relatives, and other individuals working around the children/youth are important.
